About Dr. H

Hello, I am Dr. Nahal Nichole Hydaryacil. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #LMFT108460) who practices psychotherapy in Irvine, California. I hold a Doctorate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, and also have earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University. I actively participate as a member in the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

Opening a private practice was a personal and professional goal of mine.   I believe every person is resilient and capable of reaching his or her life goals.  Sometimes we simply are not aware of our capabilities, and that is when and where therapy can help foster personal growth.

I have had 12 years of experience working in school settings with children, an outpatient facility center focusing on substance abuse recovery, and as a domestic violence counselor. I have had experience working with individuals, families, couples, and group therapies. I have tackled an array of different presenting problems from depression, anxiety to mood and personality disorders.  Through my experience I look at the obstacles of each individual as part of the greater context of with partners, family, colleagues, community, culture, and environment.

Theoretically I am eclectic; however, different approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral, Attachment, Humanistic, and Solution Focused approaches influence me. As a therapist, I am here to facilitate your process of healing and transformation, as your committed listener, your mirror and partner in the process. My goal is always balance.  A balance in health, a balance in relationships, a balance in work, a balance in LIFE and what steps can be taken to get you there. Through the therapeutic partnership we will tackle many presenting issues together and the journey is not always easy, but one that is beneficial.
